Before you take it, talk about it!
Talking about your medicine is easy.

Simply ask questions. Ask what the medicine is supposed to do. Ask how and when to take it. Ask what precautions to take and what side effects might occur. Remember…health professionals are just as concerned about your medicine as you are.

If you don’t understand the answers they give you, ask them to explain again.

Talking is good for your health.

Take advantage of the oldest advice in medicine. Take the time to talk, really talk, with your doctors, pharmacists, and nurses. Remember that they are just as concerned as you about making your medicine work right for you.

So before you take it, talk about it!

CAHN, the non-profit

Remembering your medicine is important.

Take notes on what you are told about your medicine.  Ask for additional written information you can take home with you.  And most importantly, if you have a question later, don’t be afraid to call the doctor.
